AutoFIX started in 2016 with four lifts, two instructors and eleven students. Ten years on we run six majors across two campuses — and we still measure ourselves by one number: how many graduates are still in the trade two years later.
Our founders ran a dealership service department and a collision shop. Between them they interviewed hundreds of graduates who could recite a textbook and could not torque a wheel correctly.
So the curriculum was written backwards: start from the tasks a first-year technician is actually given, then work out what has to be taught to do them safely and to spec. That is why 70% of class hours are practical, why every module ends in a timed task, and why our instructors still work in the trade.
Vocational training licence no. AF-2016-0417, renewed 2024.
Accredited for vocational skill grade assessment in four of our six majors.

AutoFIX opens in a rented industrial unit with a single mechanical programme.
First spray booth installed; collision repair becomes the second major.
Battery pack teardown benches and HV safety certification introduced.
Second campus opens with 6 bays, dormitory and a dedicated ADAS calibration bay.
Partner network passes 300 enterprises; alumni studio network launches.
Appraisal and evening programmes added; employment rate published per term.
Both campuses run the same curriculum, the same assessment tasks and the same equipment list. You choose by travel time, not by quality.
18 Riverside Industrial Rd. The original site: mechanical, NEV three-electric and electronic diagnosis workshops, plus the main parts store.
Unit 4, Northgate Park. Purpose-built for body, paint, detailing and modification, with a second paint booth and a static ADAS calibration bay.
Our ten-year goal is unglamorous: that an employer hiring an AutoFIX graduate never has to ask where they trained. That means publishing our employment data even when it is uncomfortable, and retiring any module that no longer matches what workshops actually do.
A route into work that does not depend on who you know.
Technicians who arrive able to do the first-year jobs unsupervised.
Published standards, honest fees, and instructors who still work on cars.
