Admissions questions, answered plainly

Twenty-two questions across six categories. If yours is not here, the live chat answers in minutes during opening hours, and the hotline answers faster than that.

Enrolment & fees

Tuition ranges from $1,480 for the evening upgrade programme to $5,680 for NEV three-electric. That figure includes consumables, PPE, tool loan and the certification assessment. There is no separate “equipment fee” — what you see on the course page is the total.
Yes — three interest-free instalments, with the first due on enrolment. Scholarships (12 places per term) and subsidies require an application and a short interview; the advisor will tell you the deadline for your intake.
In full, if you cancel before the first class. Once classes start, refunds are calculated on the proportion of the programme not yet delivered.
No for the entry programmes (ME-101, BP-210, DT-120, AP-150). You should be able to read a service manual and do basic arithmetic. The intermediate and advanced programmes assume you have worked on vehicles — the advisor will check this before offering a place.

Classes & study mode

Maximum six per bay, one workstation each and six vehicles. Theory blocks are held for the full cohort, but practical work never exceeds six.
Full-time: Monday to Friday, 08:30–16:30, with a one-hour break. Weekend classes run Saturday 09:00–17:00. The evening programme runs two evenings a week, 18:30–21:00, plus online theory.
Yes, within the first four weeks, if the target bay has capacity. Fees are adjusted to the new programme; completed modules are credited.

Accommodation & campus life

Riverside campus has 120 beds, four to a room, with a canteen and study room. Accommodation is $180/month and allocated at enrolment, first come first served. Northgate students usually commute.
Yes, and we prefer it. Book a free trial class — two hours in the workshop, a campus and dormitory tour, and a written fee summary before you leave.

Certificates

Two: an AutoFIX completion certificate, and where applicable a vocational skill grade certificate issued through our assessment centre (four of the six majors). NEV students also receive an HV safety authorisation card, which is what employers actually ask for.
You repeat the failed task and re-sit once at no cost. If you fail again, you get a further three months of supervised workshop access at no tuition charge before the second re-sit.

Employment service

No, and any school that guarantees one is not being straight with you. What we commit to in writing: three introductions to partner workshops, interview preparation, and continued referrals for twelve months after graduation.
$3,200/month across the class of 2026, self-reported at the three-month follow-up call. NEV and diagnosis graduates average 18% higher; body and paint graduates average 9% higher.

Enterprise cooperation

Send the roles and headcount through the enterprise form on the employment page. The partnership team returns a shortlist within two weeks, and you can interview on campus if you prefer.
Yes — order-based classes run from 15 students upward, with a co-built curriculum and your diagnostic platforms on the floor. Lead time is one term.
